Operation Come Home will receive a $187,000 grant as part of a new provincial program.
The Centretown-based organization is one of 18 recipients of the provincial Strategic Community Entrepreneurships Projects program. SCEP is designed to help 15 to 29-year-olds in high-needs communities start their own business. OCH will receive the grant as part of a one-year project designed to help at-risk youth in Ottawa gain access to training and mentorships. The funding will allow the organization to offer micro financing that will help eight young people start their own business, provide work experience for 14 people and training for 24 people, CFRA News reports.
