No charges will be laid against the driver of a dump truck that struck and killed a man in Centretown last month.

Roland Weiss, 64, died Feb. 16 after being pinned under the truck at the corner of Laurier Avenue and Metcalfe Street.

Weiss was crossing Laurier Avenue when he was struck by the dump truck as it was completing a right hand turn.

“What we know is that the pedestrian did not walk between the two white lines,” said Const. Marc Soucy. “We have a lot of witnesses but none of them can say who had the right of way at the time.”

The investigation is now closed, unless new information is brought forward.
